JAKE MCCORMICK
Associate Attorney
Jake McCormick is an attorney who focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, personal injury & wrongful death, and business strategy. Jake received his Juris Doctor (Business Law Certificate) from IIT-Chicago Kent College of Law in 2025, where he served the student body as an elected Student Representative to the Illinois State Bar Association. During his time in law school, he assisted in the Standing Rock tribal rights litigation and served as a Guardian Ad Litem on behalf of children from indigent families in Cook County. Jake also assisted individuals and small businesses with Federal and Illinois tax matters through the Tax Clinic at Chicago-Kent.
Mr. McCormick has extensive experience fighting complex civil and criminal issues, and is undefeated at trial, including both jury and bench trials. He began working at the firm straight out of under-grad, conducting in-depth research on complex liability and damages issues, drafting dispositive motions and discovery, preparing witnesses, contributing to mediation and settlement negotiations, and assisting lead counsel through all phases of trial in six, seven, eight, and nine-figure plaintiff and defense side cases.
Prior to law school, Mr. McCormick graduated from Saint John’s University (Minnesota) in 2022 with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Communications. While at Saint John’s, he developed early business sophistication through his service on the University’s Investment Committee, where he participated in portfolio analysis and investment decision-making for the student-managed fund. He also competed on the Mock Trial team and served as an editor for The Record (the university newspaper). He previously worked on a number of political campaigns, including interning for Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky.
Jake is a lifelong Chicago-area resident who is passionate about advocating for victims and families who have been injured through the negligence of others and about making the law more accessible to the individuals and small businesses that make our city run. Outside the office, he enjoys trying new restaurants, canoeing in northern Minnesota, and attending Cubs games at Wrigley Field.
